Youth Ministry Coordinator

This position supports particular programs developed by the Director of Mission and Faith Formation. The Youth Ministry Coordinator will work on both collaborative and individual assignments. The position reports to the Director of Mission and Faith Formation and attends monthly Faith Formation meetings.
Collaborate with the Director of Mission and Faith Formation and Nursery Supervisor to support:
- Sunday morning nursery care
- Sunday education hour (Bible Story Chapel)
- Worship support activities for children and parents
- Middler (5th- 7th grade) programming that may include monthly Sunday afternoon outings, worship experiences, special events, and retreats
- Special events that include seasonal celebrations and worship events
- Other programs or activities that need support as determined by the Director of Mission and Faith Formation (mission/service work, retreats)
Preparation and Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain a current list of children and teens with parent contact information and any special needs
- Develop methods and consistent routines for keeping in touch with teens
- Stay current on youth related literature and resources to inform topical and Biblical studies
- Attend continuing education events as needed
- Work with the Director of Mission and Faith Formation to develop a program year calendar for children and teens
- Work with the Director of Mission and Faith Formation to identify, recruit, train volunteers
- Work with Director of Mission and Faith Formation to determine supplies needed to be prepared, purchased, ordered to support activities and programs
- Inventory closets, cabinets; organize closets, cabinets
- Meet with Director of Mission and Faith Formation regularly to determine work schedule, identify needs, discuss program goals and how they are being met
- Work with the Director of Mission and Faith Formation to develop strategies that support youth in their spiritual growth and encourage them to be active participants in the life of the church. This may include:
- Weekly/monthly gatherings with Bible study, fellowship, relevant topic studies
- Special retreats and mission trips, including those with nearby churches or via the Denver Presbytery
- Supporting youth as Worship leaders
- Collaborate with the Director of Mission and Faith Formation and Pastor to coordinate the Confirmation program and participate as an active leader on this team
Part-time: approx. 10 hrs/wk
Salary range: $22/hr
