Interim Part-Time Youth Minister
First Presbyterian Church
Kerrville, TX

FPC believes that every person is created in God’s image and is a beloved child of God. What this means is that all youth are welcome in our youth ministry program. We believe students grow best when they are known, welcomed, and connected—to peers, caring adults, and the larger church community.

The Youth Director provides collaborative leadership to the middle and high school ministries of First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville (FPC). This role helps students experience faith in Jesus Christ in ways that connect meaningfully to their everyday lives. The Youth Director works alongside the broader Faith Formation teams (Children and Adult Ministry) to develop students who are grounded in faith, rooted in community, and confident that FPC will always be “home.”

Student Ministry staffing at FPC includes students from 6th – 12th grades. Over holiday breaks, it also may include connecting with former youth who are home from college. Generally, the youth group meets every Sunday evening from 5-7:30 pm during the school year. There are also special programs and retreats that happen on a regular basis over the Winter and Summer breaks and weekends like presbytery retreats in September and January, ski trips, mission trips, summer camps at MO Ranch and Montreat, service projects, lock-ins and other fellowship events. Every three years there is a denomination-wide youth event called Triennium that FPC youth have historically attended.
